BAMF of the Day: Roongrojna Sangwongprisarn, creator of the Alien-Predator Motorcyle (this is the same artist who built the Megatron Tank, in case you forgot)
Art Project of the Day: Mark Grieve and Ilana Spector’s “Cyclisk” — a 65ft-tall, 10,000lbs. obelisk made out of ~340 bicycles (and 1 tricycle).
Funding for the piece was provided by Nissan as part of the city of Santa Rosa’s “1% for art,” which stipulates that 1% of budget for large-scale construction be allocated to public art (Nissan is in the process of building a $3.7 million dealership in Santa Rosa).

ruh roh!
Plagiarized Marketing Campaign of the Day: Did Ogilvy & Mather Jakarta “borrow” the idea for their speedy UPS delivery man statue (left) from Brooklyn-based sculptor Ryan Johnson’s “Pedestrian” (right)?
Sure seems so.
