BAMF of the Day: A: Alex Trebek. Q: Who is a badass?

The 71-year-old Jeopardy host tore his Achilles tendon while chasing down a burglar who broke into his hotel room.

Trebek, who was in the San Francisco Bay Area to host the National Geographic World Championship event at Google HQ, awoke to the sounds of an intruder.

According to a police report, 56-year-old Lucinda Moyers took off down the hallway with Trebek hot on her tail. He managed to tackle Moyers once before injuring both legs. “I called security immediately and gave them a good description of the woman and they got her,” Trebek is quoted as saying.

San Francisco PD managed to recover some stolen items, but a sentimental piece of jewelry remains missing. “The one piece of jewelry that I ever wear — it’s a bracelet my mother gave me many years ago, so that’s gone,” Trebek said.

Police stress that Trebek’s life was never in danger. Well, duh.
